The momentum is undeniable. It is clear that people recognize the skill and grit behind robotics.

Robotics promotes cooperation between team members and allows students to gain skills that will be important in every day life. Not just STEM, but social interaction are a part of the competitive robotics experience.
Our school has only one team, Robotics. The students who participate work as a team, develop strategies, spend hours practicing. Isn't it time we recognize mind over muscle?
Sports of the mind need greater exposure in society to show future students that there is opportunity to be successful and make a living outside of the traditional sporting arena.
FIRST Robotics is teamwork focused on the intellectual rather than physical. Recognition from the school and broader community is warranted.
Everything you expect in a sport is here in FIRST Robotics - strategy, offense, defense, agility, speed, penalties, scoring, referees, and (when sports are played correctly) gracious professionalism.
Robotics Is a sport Especially FIRST Robotics.
Go robots!

A FIRST Robotics Competition has everything that a "regular" sport has - offense, defense, strategy, teamwork, penalties, longshots, upsets, agility, speed, strength - declaring it a sport is just letting the language catch up with reality.
