Robin Williams Day will be a national holiday to commemorate Mr. Williams for all of his amazing contributions to our society, providing children and adults alike with hope and happiness. I believe this should be a holiday because of how he truly affected our lives through his films, from Mrs. Doubtfire to Good Morning Vietnam, all the while going through his own hardships.

Robin Williams Day shall also be celebrated on July 21st, which was his birthday. The purpose of this is to honor his extraordinary life, instead of mourning over his death. It was a truly heartbreaking day for everyone that had watched a Robin Williams film, but I honestly think he would want us to be happy while thinking about him, instead of being upset.
The final 2 purposes of Robin Williams Day are to promote suicide and depression awareness, and to let everyone be outrageous and odd without critique from others. This would help bring the serious issue of depression into the light of the public, which would help decrease the chance of another tragic incident.
