Re: Axe Brothers Special Permit Application to manufacture firewood on the Trudeau property, next to Robbins Brook.

Dear Trustees

In communicating these proceedings to the community there is considerable support in objecting to the Special Permit Application. To date there are 54 signatures on our petition in opposition.

Several people have remarked that this situation, if ever there was one, is a Master Trust issue that needs to be addressed by the trustees.

Home devaluation, noise and dust pollution and the consequential potential health hazards that will occur if outdoor manufacturing of firewood is allowed next door are real and probable outcomes.

I, and others who have signed this writing ask the Condominium Trust take responsibility for the legal cost of maintaining Robbins Brook and protecting it from the detrimental effects that outdoor manufacturing will have on our community. To date, legal costs total $1694.00.

We believe Dan Hill, our attorney has followed a strong strategy opposing the Axe Brother’s request. The owner of 848 Main Street, Acton, MA or their tenants, Jacob and Charlie Abraham will spend considerable funds to provide professional site plan information to the Board of Selectmen as requested by Dan Hill. At this time this seems unlikely given the present zoning issues surrounding the property at 848 Main Street regarding open space requirements.

The Rules and Regulations of the Robbins Brook Condominium trust are intended to “protect and enhance the value of all property at the Condominium.” The Robbins Brook community is surrounded by business entities and to date, outside manufacturing has been denied in Acton. Should this Special Permit be granted, the Robbins Brook Community could be additionally impacted by other businesses on our borders.

The Board of Selectmen’s decision will not only influence Robbins Brook, but will serve as a precedent decision for the town of Acton. Robbins Brook trustees have the opportunity to stand up to its reputation as a community that cares for and about it’s residents and to provide financial support to oppose this potential blight on our community.

Respectfully,

The Residents of Robbins Brook
