Riverside Drive Skybridge Proposal

As you may be aware the City of St. George Planning Commission heard a proposal on Feb 24, 2015 for the rezoning of an area south of Riverside Drive and 2450 East that would potentially lead to the construction of 244 apartments (See Photos).
For those who live in the area you know how dangerous Riverside Dr. can be. Adding more housing in the area without providing adequate infrastructure for children and families to cross the busy road to get to schools and parks that arejust across the road is not only shortsighted, but boarder line irresponsible.
Right now a public hearing is proposed for March 19th 5:30 PM at the St. George City Council meeting. The purpose of this page is to garner support from residents in the area to encourage the City Council to consider the construction of a skybridge at the 2200 Each and Riverside Dr connecting to Slickrock Park (See Photos). This skybridge would offer a safe alternative for children and families to safely cross this busy road for both school and recreation. Particularly since they are considering adding 244 additional residence south of Riverside Dr. In addition, this skybridge would safely connect residence residing north of Riverside Dr. to safely connect to the St. George's wonderful trail system. Not to mention it will increase surrounding property values.
