The citizens of Westchester County have been subjected to an increase in their county taxes while County Government allows a non-county resident to profit by only paying $500.00 a month for county owned parkland. This tenant has failed to make the necessary improvements required in the lease in the amount of $600,000.00. River Ridge Equestrian Center does not pay taxes and violates the child labor laws. It has recently announced a 72% increase in board fees (from $700.00 to $1200.00 per month per horse) to County residents based on falisifed increases in costs, none of this increase would go to the County!!

Updates

July 17, 2009

I am currently compiling evidence regarding the lease violations and tax discrepancies to present before the county board. The stories shared by residents regarding these board fee hikes provide essential documentation for our formal complaint.

The momentum behind this petition highlights a collective demand for fiscal accountability regarding our county parkland. Your willingness to engage with this issue confirms that the current arrangement at the River Ridge Equestrian Center is no longer acceptable.

Ridiculous that our tax dollars are subsidizing this. Kick them out and open the space up for actual public use.
