Allow Laying Hens in the City of Edmonton

I support that the citizens of Edmonton should be allow to raise laying hens within city limits.

Hens are the most innocuous thing imaginable. There's really no reason to use something as extreme as prohibition.

Chickens are a dynamic piece moving people towards greater food security.

Local food security!!

Chickens are incredible creatures because everything they do benefits us. Food security for all!

Please be food wise and sensible. Hens are a natural answer to food security.

My wife wants some chickens!!

We have had backyard hens in Devon for three years, and our neighbours love them as much as we do. Please allow Edmontonians to keep hens in urban areas.

This needs to happen. Let's move away from the redneck mentality

We have visited the excellent garden in McCauley with chickens and it is a perfect example chickens and garden working harmoniously together. We also have good friends in Brooklyn who have chickens in their back yard. If they can work in NY city, they can work in Edmonton.

I experienced hens in various towns and cities, and I love the idea!

I fully support this initiative for giving city residents access to fresh, reliable and sustainable food. -HC, Ward 8 resident.
