RIP Currents is about educating and informing everyone about ocean safety. From 2005-2014 there were 3,536 people who died by unintentionally drowning. That’s about 10 people die each day. Additionally, 332 people died from drowning from boat incidents. About one in FIVE people who die from drowning is age 14 and younger.

Our overall goal is to decrease the number of deaths due to rip currents. The purpose of this petition is to assign more lifeguards at a time during the summer. For example, instead of having twenty lifeguards working on the beach, have forty lifeguards on the beach. This will assure beach safety for all of the beachgoers.

By extending their hours we can always be safe and in the eyes of the lifeguards who will save us at any cost. If we get more lifeguards on the beach at a time, it will decrease the chance of someone drowning unnoticed.

By signing this you are agreeing to extend hours of lifeguards and to get more on the beach at a time. This petition will be going to Monmouth Beach Bathing Pavilion, New Jersey and other beach clubs all located in New Jersey.

Please join us and help by signing this petition and spreading awareness. Everytime we go into the ocean, we always make sure eyes are on us and we are so conscious about the waves hurting us. We hope that the next time you go in the water, no matter what time of day you will feel safe because all eyes are on you.
