Currently, anyone in England can break into your home and stay there indefinatly. In order to evict these people from your house, you have to go through various legal procedures to regain possession of your home. Squatting is currently a civil offence, not a criminal offence (unless their is evidence of forced entry) Damage can be done to homes and people can be left homeless themselves due to strangers living in their own properties. These people have no consideration for others and need to be stopped. Squatting is in the process of becoming an illegal offence in England, but it needs to be speed up as people are still being affected today.
