Im trying to start a Petition for the Rights of pregnant women who are overweight, or any women who has been turn down for prenatal care, due to how she looks. I am currently pregnant & overweight, and ive been turn down by every OB/GYN in my town of KY. The law states that we can not use discrimination againt any race, sex, or gender. Isnt turning down someone because of their body type consider discrimination? Me nore anyother women should have to go out of state, hundreds of miles from home, just to see a doctor for something like this. I have wrote the local news station about this problem and have not heard anything back from them. Ive talked to doctors and nurses from the local hospitals and they all find this to be a shock. Getting the word out about this issue and getting something done about this, will not only help me and thousands of other women, it can also save many lifes of the women who are left without prenatal care and it will also help the unborn babies that will suffer due to lack of care.
