Right The Wrong: Reinstate Laurie Brockhaus

Support humanities at SLU!! We need social workers & great professors now more than ever!

Professor Brockhaus has been very warm, genuine, and insightful to have as a professor in the multiple classes I have had with her! I appreciate her dedication to her students as well as dedication to the values of social work and her yoga & mindfulness practices!

I 100% stand by this petition. Professor Laurie has made a huge impact on me personally. She is so supportive of her students and the work that she does with social justice is needed in our community. Please reconsider! We need her!

Professor Brauckhaus is a huge reason why I have loved and valued my time as an MSW student. It is essential that she is kept as a professor here!

Professor Brockhaus has been a huge figure in my academic success. Losing her as a teacher, mentor, and support system impacts the future of this program. We the students should have a voice in this fight too.

I think Laurie is a great teach, she should stay.

Laurie was an incredible facilitator and my first, I felt safe and welcome by her. I feel that she is very needed.

Professor Brockhaus was one of my first professors in my first semester in the online MSW program. She made me feel so welcome and helped me connect with fellow students in the synchronous Social Work Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups course. She treats all her students with respect and you can tell she values the input of her students. Her assignments and lectures are informative and really helped propel my learning in social work. She pushed me and her other students to actively engage in our learning and practice concrete social work skills with one another during classes. I don’t know that I would’ve felt as welcome in this program without Professor Brockhaus. I think it is a grave mistake to remove Laurie from her position.

Professor Brockhaus plays a cornerstone role in students’ professional development! She is needed and valued.
