The peaceful and rural characteristics of the Turner Hill Ridgefield and Ridgebury area has been negatively impacted by the extremely dense housing permitted by our neighboring city Danbury. Large 18 wheeler trucks and large amounts of cars are traveling on neighborhood streets. Ridgefield has conservation and open space on and adjacent to the proposed property. There are wetlands and wooded land which provide harbor to aquatic and land animals that would be negatively impacted by the extremely dense proposed project. Additionally, there is a great concern for both pedestrians and children's safety as they go to and from the community pool which will be where cars are entering and exiting the proposed project. This 9 unit project on only 1 acre is only going to provide 2 affordable housing units.

My concern is it will destroy the aesthetics of the street. The continuous upkeep
the building needs will not be upheld. This leaves our neighborhood looking disheveled and unappealing to new buyers looking for a quiet neighborhood with privacy.

We have so many new apartments, senior housing and other housing going in right now-fill those up first. This is a traffic and congestion nightmare!

Developers should be charged at least double, if not more, for any Septic hook ups.....this surely is a no brainer.....when will the P & Z, First Selectman, BOS - show that they care about their highly taxed public?

8-30g is being abused to move high density housing into non-high density zoned areas. That is not the intention of the regulation, and I've yet to see the Town's 8-30j plan for affordable housing. TThis application should be denied.

We need consistent zoning standards. Existing residents (ie your current base) shouldn’t be held to different standards than developments who have totally overcrowded the north end of Ridgebury and the surrounding Saw Mill Rd section heading to I-84. Where is the focus on conservation?

Suggestion made when 33Turner Rd was on the market and this parcel was included in that sale. Turner Hill Association pool their money to purchase this land and donate back to the Town open space... I still think this is a good idea but maybe too costly to do now.

There are numerous reasons for the Town of Ridgefield to deny this application. Concerns about traffic, environmental impacts, the possibility of impacts to schools and the threat of additional crime in the area, to name a few. However with these issues aside, Turner Road quite frankly just can't take any more traffic. The road is in very rough shape now and with the numerous trucks entering and exiting Belimo and the cars of Mayfair Square, it will only get worse. Planning and Zoning, please do your due diligence regarding this application.

As Ridgefield resident, I ask the Ridgefield Planning and Zoning Commission to deny the proposed 8-30g application at the Turner Road/Barnum Place location. The lack of transportation to and from town is non existent.

This proposed project is surrounded by new multi family, including multi story developments extending from Ridgefield into Danbury... The bordering open space, including wetlands cannot withstand more pressures. Likewise, the absence of ADA adherence and foresight regarding current levels of traffic congestion, evidence another ill conceived, rushed development.

No mention of ADA? It was suggested that ADA rules didn't need to be followed because it was only 9 units . This road truly is a bottleneck because belimo moved in and quite a few condos on the Danbury side. Danbury has public transportation that goes up and down that road but nobody is allowed to get on from the Ridgefield side. Unfortunately, Ridgefield eliminated public wheelchair services in and out of town a few years back. My family lives four miles up the road in Ridgefield and I can't even get from the Danbury side to the Ridgefield side and nobody from the Ridgefield side is allowed it out. Belimo spent $16,000 to make sure that bus goes up and down that road and it seems like such a fail. It was also suggested that there was only 9 units and ADA rules didn't need to be followed. I live in a wheelchair and had to move out of Ridgefield because of the lack of Transportation, as well as the lack of proper housing. Stop kicking the can down the road just to please the few, when the masses are what should be considered. If it's not above and beyond ADA requirements, it should be voted down fast.

I could not agree more with the rationale offered in this petition. I have friends in this neighborhood and we visit this area regularly. Barnum Place is currently a dead-one. It is barely wide enough for one car, let alone the wider emergency vehicles.

As Ridgefield resident, I ask the Ridgefield Planning and Zoning Commission to deny the proposed 8-30g application at the Turner Road/Barnum Place location. This application does not satisfy the critical requirements and intended purpose of an affordable housing development and will have a significant negative impact on the safety of my neighboring homeowners and their families.
