Richmond Hill needs to remove this barrier to Small Business

This outdated bylaw must be abolished. It is harmful to small business, and jeopardizes people's livelihoods.

Bylaws must be updated to meet the needs of the economic climate. We must make room for small business to thrive as they play an important role to support our economy. DQ

We pay a ton of taxes for our property. If we prevent small business owners to be business owners how will taxes get paid? I see the need to make individuals responsible for the vehicles they keep on their driveway but specification is required. Hoe is a wetmobil different from an RV

Barb is someone that I respect. My family lost our dog Lazio last March and it is still difficult. He was a part of my life for 14 years.
Barb did everything possible to help alleviate his pain for severL months and she was always available. Unbelievable care and service.
This bylaw is definitely out of date and irrespective of this, it cannot be enforced correctly as any person with a commercial vehicle or boat / trailer would have to adhere to this......
This is definitely a sad story. Ironically we, the tax payers, are being penalized.

I am sure there are more pressing issues on the table than this. its a small business, she started up herself which in its own is hard enough, don't you think? this barrier should be pulled down! ridiculous this is even a battle!!

This law is not just antiquated but also ludicrous considering the number of home based businesses these days. This law will only serve to put more people out of gainfull employment needed to support families and serve communities. The vet mobile pictured is a much needed business that can only service us as a community with the very vehicle that this law will eradicate. We need the vet mobile and all small home based businesses in our communities. Don't deny us those services.

It's ironic that the largest "employer ", small business, can be brought down by a single specious complaint about an "offensive" vehicle. What do we allow our society to be driven and managed by complaints and malice? It's time to stand up for what is right, to make changes to reflect our circumstances and to do what's right. Sign the petition and help support the growth of our community and our economy.

This is a well maintained vehicle. It is not a rust bucket or an eye sore. We should applaud those that are creating business and helping the community. Are you honestly going to say that the vehicle is okay if it didn't have it's livery - if it was just white throughout???

The bylaw is outdated and unfair in its enforcement. Don't let malicious people dictate who gets punished! The proposed amendments are reasonable and equitable. Make it right, Town of Richmond Hill!

I think that a business that visits those who can not make a visit to a vet would be supported. How many other people do you allow to park their business vehicles in their lane ways and do not say anything?

Small business owners drive a lot of the economy but if we can't have our business vehicles in our own driveway (which we paid for in the price of our housing) - then perhaps we should relocate to some place that wants us!

This is a hard working woman helping those who may not have the resources or ability to take their pet to the vet clinic. Pets are like family to people. Especially those who have no family.
Whoever complained about her vehicle clearly has nothing better to do and has no idea what the long term benefits are from her service.

I think this is ridiculous. Barb Winslow is my vet and I love the fact that she has everything at hand in her vetmobile. She is a small business trying to make a living and other people park company trucks or vans in their driveways when they are not working and i think this bu law should be changed. Too bad people have nothing better to do than cause trouble for an honest, hardworking wonderful Vet

This is the type of business that we need for pet owners that are unable to make trips to the vet, etc., with their pets.
I do not understand why the home-based business can not park in their driveway. We have a plumber next door who parks his vehicle in his driveway.

This is a needed service and the vet needs to be able to respond quickly to a call. It is only a small vehicle, not a school bus or a truck. Be fair!
