This is a petition to re-extend the Richard Spendlove show; Saturday nights on BBC Local Radio once again. Proposed times are 20:00 until 23:00, or 21:00 until 01:00. We the people would request, once this petition has been filled, that the BBC Local Radio authorities take note of our wishes and heed this petition. Richard Spendlove is perhaps the best radio broadcaster on the airwaves of a Saturday evening. His diverse chat and music program touches the hearts of many; and provides a very personal touch to those who listen alone. His voice has become so familiar that having him on for only two hours now is unacceptable to the local listeners. Please sign this petition; and give your support. Many thanks.

I listen to Richard every Saturday. He was a great comfort when I was in hospital after my stroke, and have been listening to him for years. Used to listen to Keith Skews, cardboard shoes, in the week, and Richard at the weekends. Shame both have had their shows cut back. Best regards Mrs Sybil Rivett

My wife & I first heard Richards Saturday evening show while away in our motorhome on Four Counties radio, we now turn off the t.v. & listen to him every Saturday from our home on Radio Kent find him very sincere interesting & love his calming voice. Barry Chessell aged 59

i feel the bbc management have treated both richard and the listeners with no respect whatsoever the bbc introducing show that chopped ihr off richards show is poor to say the least richard wants 3 hours minimum and so do we the listeners

A large number of Richard's listeners on a saturday evening do not have e-mail facilites and this telephone in is a life line to alot of these folks.I consder that a 3 hour programme at this time on a Saturday is the least the BBC Local Radio can do,it is a phone in programme not on line & let us keep it at that!

Signing this for my 88 year old mum who is recently diagnosed with sight problems meaning she can no longer watch the TV, therefore the radio is her only pleasure she very much enjoys listening to Richard and she says the topics he chats about are usually very interesting.

My husband died 2 weeks ago and we always listened to Richard together, I would like him to stay on between 8-11 as thats perfect for when I go to bed 2 hours is not long enough or even 7-11 would be even better.

Richard was the best presenter on local radio. He could do the light stuff and he could do the heavy and serious stuff, always with style, eloquence and grace. It would be great to have him back on Saturday night.
