To the Mayor and City Council of Rochester Hills, As a voter and taxpayer of Rochester Hills, I am in strong opposition to the construction two, 3 million gallon water reservoirs in our City with a projected cost of a minimum of $14 million until: 1) The current water ordinance has been enforced and results of enforcement have been analyzed; 2) A review is conducted of the effective strategies that other neighboring municipalities, including Troy, have implemented; 3) Water rates are re-negotiated (to current usage) with Detroit; 4) A comprehensive, financial evaluation of the construction of the reservoirs is completed 5) A series of community forums are held to address the concerns of City residents. As a concerned citizen, I request that the Water Reservoir Project be stopped until the actions noted above are completed.
