Rezoning Petition Stand Up Sioux Falls

That area you are referring to, was rezoned from commercial to Residential/office this past year. Along the east side Tea/Ellis road between 26th and 10th street you will also notice a ditch dug out for a storm drain. The area where the villas are going would have been a better fit for multi family because it isn’t the entrance point and face of an entire single family dwelling community. There is multiple instances on how this is terrible for the community and city. Thank you for sharing

22nd street is used to get kids to and from schools just on the other side of Tea/Ellis. An apartment complex would cause higher traffic and safety issues for transporting children. Not to mention other safty concerns. We live close to a complex on 26th and Katie and even though our street is not a direct inlet to them we constantly have speeding cars, heavy traffic, and safety concerns. We have 28 kids on our street and do not need to worry about additional traffic. The apartments have had 34 calls to police within 30 days as well. We do not need additional calls. Also, what about the development across the street, villas and townhomes, are they prepared to have an apartment building across the way? Rezone for twin homes or duplex, apartments are not welcome needed at that intersection.

Before building our house, we were told the area would be single-family homes only. So we don't like the idea of rezoning at all for all of the reasons listed!

This *Will undoubtedly affect children’s and community safety in a number of ways! Kelly Neilson owns the office space for the Pitter Patter Daycare and did not tell the lesee of the rezoning. They use the community and sidewalks. He also lied to them on the expansion into two buildings in which should have been an exclusive daycare campus. He added office space and isn’t a man of his word, a liar, and endangers children.

Traffic concerns and parking are also huge concerns.

When we bought our house 13 months ago we were told my Nielson Construction that all of the land around would be single family housing.

This would impact our wonderful neighborhood, tremendously! Its going to increase our traffic and could endanger our children's safety!

This parcel was zoned within the last 2 years. The zoning commission was correct for zoning this parcel for businesses and rezoning for apartments is inappropriate for the area due to many reasons

We don't need any more traffic in our community. Too many kids around!

I live on Thecla Ave and am very much against the rezoning. It was appropriate before when it was zoned for single family homes. I am concerned about what the additional hundreds of people and potentially vehicles will do to affect safety in my neighborhood, namely the additional traffic both automotive and pedestrian. I am also concerned about the value of my home and the affect this will have on a neighborhood we were led to believe would be single family homes when we initially built with Neilson Construction. Once more, I am very much against this rezoning and I feel that the timing and expectation that people are to present to a community meeting in times like these is suspect.

Please do not rezone this area for apartment complex development. We moved into this area because it was family-friendly and were assured it would remain single-family dwellings. Increased traffic and all the water issues in this neighborhood are major concerns with rezoning this area. Please leave the zoning as-is.

We do not want this apartment complex in our neighborhood. Traffic at 22nd and Ellis will be horrific and there will be cars parked everywhere along 22nd creating driving hazards. Please donot approve.

Thought was related to the School District rezoning as well.

The rezoning is ridiculous, I live 10 blocks from Memorial Middle School why should I have to send my children miles away

I’m not in favor of the reasoning, no one in the community is.

This is awful for the community, the city and planning got it right with the zoning in the first place that brought families out here to build and buy. This is not right, nor fair and honest.
