Landover Lane is dangerous as is with no striping and barely being wide enough for 2 cars. Something has to be done.

If the traffic study was completed between March 2020 and April 2021, it is SEVERELY FLAWED. Everyone knows that traffic has been minor without schools in session and everyone working. Since Wake County schools have returned even over the last month, traffic has NOTICEABLY picked up in the AM and PM. To have no plan for additional traffic, to add another traffic light, and to not even fix the current traffic issues is unacceptable. Everyone that uses that route on Forrestville and Buffaloe knows this during morning and evening commutes.

Please stop building with no regards to existing homes and traffic. There is already too much traffic for that road.

I too feel that more information concerning proposed rules and regulations for property owners and renters is needed before being able to support rental-only units.

Without seeing the restrictions/covenants of the proposed development I must decline to support rental-only units. There must be enforceable rules in place that would help maintain property values with consequences if they are not met.

I'm not signing this petition as there is no data to back up the claims about a negative impact to home value. However, I do favor postponing development because of traffic implications and the study being performed during the pandemic. As long time residents โ like me โ of the area know, the traffic on Buffaloe Road has worsened to the point of cars being backed up onto I-540 (both directions) trying to make a turn towards Forestville Road. I propose that re-zoning, the decision as to number of properties, and/or modifications to traffic flow be postponed for some months until all schools in the county are back on a somewhat normal schedule and locals are working their normal hours. Alternatively, that traffic changes in the area are made to handle a greater number of drivers than has been accounted for in the traffic study.
I am not opposed to the type of housing that is developed as making this area more populated will only increase its desirability to both potential homeowners and businesses. Arguments against rental units appear to not be based on any facts in the area, though I welcome those facts if they are back by data. As home prices and sellers continue to profit off of an ever-increasing real estate market that is pricing low income families out of the market, further driving to restrict residential units feels like a greedy case of Not In My Backyard mixed with some unfounded stereotypes. In any case, I severely doubt that houses developed next to the noisy 540 junction will positively affect surrounding home values. If one were looking to improve existing home values, they would be better off petitioning to restrict the supply of nearby "owner occupied" residences.

I have no problem with owner occupied. Rental only is bad news. Awful news to me.

I was not under the impression that this would be a rental only development. This is unacceptable and detrimental to all neighborhoods in the area. It is inexcusable and should not be permitted.
