The 2040 Plan destroys what makes Minneapolis a unique wonderful city and does nothing to solve the affordable housing problem. It's a developer's dream and a homeowner's nightmare.

We love the authenticity of our neighborhood and city. What we love the most is diversity and the feel of community right where it is. We all know this kind of move is going to push us all out of our homes. Homes where we've made our lives and are able to afford the already high prices of living. Please listen to the people! We need our homes. We need to be able to afford where we have built our lives. Please. These are beautiful people. This is a beautiful community.

I oppose the methodology and most of the content of the City Council's 2040 plan. You've greatly missed the mark, and continue to foster economic growth and density - when it is so apparent that this is completely disrupting the charm and function of existing neighborhoods. This plan does not address the enormous problems it creates. I have called Minneapolis home for over 35 years, and have felt considerable pride in the city. Now when I have visitors from out-of-state, they are as appalled by the changes as I am. Healthy cities support the health of their neighborhoods and communities. The Minneapolis City Council is instead catering to developers, at a huge cost to its citizens. One can't help wondering how much money has been given under the table, to allow developers such privilege.

I left New York City to live in a sane community. Will I now have to move again to escape the density that makes attending theater and museums impossible? We now have limited public transportation AND limited parking. UNlivability!

While the goals of the plan are laudable, I think the blanket approach to development is misguided in terms of accomplishing those goals, and also is worrying for homeowners like myself whose only financial security/investment is their house.

We had NO input into the plan that was made and it appears that this was purposeful. We want the "plan" to be postponed and for all city residents to be informed of forums to give their input BEFORE the revised city plan is released.

‘This plan will not address providing remedies for low income housing needs. It will provide ample opportunities for unbridled development with no rent control or management of absentee landlord abuse.

Well planned zoning has made Minneapolis a very attractive and liveable city. I do not want to become another Houston. I feel this plan will give license to developers to tear down smaller affordable homes and put up 4 plexes or larger apartment buildings with high rents that will destroy the look and neighborhood feel of our residential streets.

The 2040 plan seems to want to transform Minneapolis, an LA type place, into a New York type place. We depend on our cars. There is no handy metro system like in Boston or in other cities have. No way, but by car, to most metro places, not to mention other cities. People here need cars. I can't see walking home from the grocery store with 5 bags of groceries. Please rethink the density issue.
Also please consider all the myriad difficulties associated with rental units.
Thanks.

Please rethink the 2040 plan. Kenny neighborhood does not need any additional rentals. Nor does Kenny need 4-6+ story buildings. Develop an area that needs development, southwest Mpls is a well maintained and involved community that cares about their properties.
