This plan will not increase affordable housing! It will only benefit developers, increase traffic issues and pollution. I do not want the 2040 plan to pass as written!

The idea of rezoning the entire city of Mpls is wrong! Why is the mayor and city council putting density on the shoulders of Mpls? What about St. Paul, first and second ring suburbs? This is the wrong approach to density and affordable housing.

I would be devastated if a multi-lot apartment 4 or more stories, with no off street parking went up next to my house. That is what can happen to us in our residential neighborhood on our side of York Ave S.. My wife and I have work so hard to live in a neighborhood where mainly single family homes exist. We did not buy a home in uptown because we value living with neighbors who own their homes. It is not that rentals are bad, but zoning the city in accordance with the new 2040 plan does not account for the cultural changes and loss of home values it will create. Yes, I do not want this next to my home. I am very comfortable saying that. Neighborhoods with strong levels of home ownership are better cared for, safer and where I want to live in Minneapolis.

We have a small house and wish to grow old in it. But is it even worth of investing in it any more if this mpls 2040 will go through. We are very against the new zoning proposals. Totally ruins nice Fulton neighborhood, so sad!

the proposed plan totally ruins our neighborhood. We already live in a so called house in our block and now this new plan would undo all hard work we have put into it!

Let's do some research and not have a one size fits all plan.

Many people, including me, are very upset with the density plan. MacMansions on our blocks are bad enough, but 4 story buildings on tiny lots with insufficient parking will be intolerable. Imagine the shade and lack of privacy a 4-story building next to mine will create. Imagine the parking nightmares when winter parking rules are in effect. Our charming, a bit funky, East Harriet neighborhood will no longer be a good neighborhood.

Let's make sure that all proposed apartments, no matter where they are located, include at least one or more parking spots for all rental units.

I agree with commentary in Star Tribune 7/18 where corporations not locals would benefit from new building for residents.

Instead of letting developers cash in on the multi-family zoning planned, how about partnering with Habitat for Humanity to get more Habitat properties amongst our neighborhoods. That would provide true diversity in our neighborhoods and our schools. The reality is that a 4-plex in SW Mpls is not going to be affordable housing. The economics of it don’t work. The developer will demand more $ than a low income renter can provide to make it a successful venture for them.

We believe this plan is too extreme and radical a solution and that reasonable alternatives have not been fully considered. We will not support officials that support this plan. Please reconsider this plan with substantial modifications.

I don't like the 2040 plan as it stands. It's a rushed act, not looking at the long term effects: parking problems, driving issues, cheaply built structures. This plan will end up costing more, to correct all the mistakes that could be avoided by meetings with the neighborhoods.

I vote 100% against the 2040 plan. It will destroy good existing neighborhoods. It would be far better to earmark funds to revamp and clean up dilapidated neighborhoods in need of work let the developers put their money into these far more vital areas of need.

This plan negatively affects our vibrant and charming neighborhoods and should be re-worked with a more personalized approach. If a developer wants a property re-zoned, they need to ask for it on a case-by-case basis!

Rework the plan with input from the neighborhoods!
