He is a positive role model for young males and the young men in our community need a second chance to make it.

Coach Darran Powell Is An awesome coach, he's not like any ordinary coach. He's like a dad to these boys. He has built an amazing bond with them that they wouldn't be able to build with someone else not this fast . I think the vote was UNFAIR and their should be a re-vote !!!

This is a Dunbar legacy with the powells. This will change the whole Dunbar high school athletic program.

How many kids have he sent to D1? The Landers kid....Thomas and Scates will be the other ones....that's only 3. He is not turning them out like Moe Doug was doing at Trotwood.

The coaches job description does not require him to verify eligibility, that is the job of the building AD. The building AD was held accountable and lost his job as a result. We did not start this petition to bash Baker, we started this petition to reinstate Darran Powell has the Head football coach at Dunbar. Football is a year round sport and Powell and his staff has worked and invested tirelessly into the kids and the program, taking kids on college visits and talking to college coaches, keeping the kids on the offseason workout program, playing counselor and mentor. The district has strung him along and gotten 8 free months of labor from this man, and now with less than 6 weeks before the season you want to fire him? No. The kids and the community will not stand for it.

They should let him coach this season and clean house afterwards, with it being this late

It's not right to fire a coach who was following orders. Also with the season starting right around the corner the kids are the ones going to get hurt. Kids will loose out on scholarships due to not having the chance to compete to make it back to the playoffs.

I just graduated from Dunbar and Coach DP is one of the main reasons why our boys were so strong and focused, they had a good leader to look after .

This young man has done amazing things for that program. He cares about those kids and it would be a travesty for him not to return as the coach at Dunbar.

I know he is one of your former players and you like him, but Dunbar has never been to a playoff game under him and has only one winning season under him, that's not saying a top program in the area

Come on , Dunbar is not one of the top programs in the area, let's be real now.....

The blame in playing a ineligible player in week 9. If he don't play the kid, we wouldn't be talking about this right now.....

Coach Powell is a talented coach who seeks to get the best out of the young men he coaches and mentors. The young men cannot afford to lose him!

I am a high school basketball coach and I understand the importance of continuity between player, coach and philosophy of the system. Trying to put in a new system and building that player-coaching relationship this late will not be conducive to the success of the Dunbar football program.
