Revoke the Permit! Save the Trees!

No new housing developments in highland Park! Thank you.

This permit MUST be revoked for environmental reasons alone.

Please don't let more of HP get paved and built on. We need open green space and reduction of our carbon footprint. Not parking lots, concrete condos, and ugly, expensive McMansions.

We needs to save our trees. The area wildlife is getting squeezed out of it's natural habitats. Please revoke the tree removal permit.

Highland Park has been steadily losing its remaining parcels of open space seemingly without a lot of meaningful planning. The Buck Wood site and its development needs to be fully evaluated before any significant environmental alteration should take place.

The tree removal plan is environmentally unsound and bad for Highland Park.

Be very careful when dealing with JSM LLC.

What about run-off and flooding when the trees are remove? What about the soil washing away once the trees are removed. In these days of climate change, trees create coolness, a cool retreat from the blistering sun. Resistance to climate change starts locally. Moreover, trees sell; people pay a premium for a house with trees. The trees are also beautiful and create a quiet atmosphere removed from frenetic urban life.

Before anything else happens with Buck Woods, it is important that the developer submit a plan so that the appropriate boards in the Borough can review the plans and get input from the public. It is not necessary to remove trees from areas that may not be developed. PLEASE REVOKE THE TREE REMOVAL PERMIT.

Please deny the permit to cut the trees and build

Save the trees and yes, please keep our town “green”.

Buck Woods is one of the few somewhat wild areas in town. It would be a terrible shame to destroy it.

Please save these trees and protect their contribution to our air quality and bird habitat

We live next door to the site on Donaldson Street - this development would change everything in the neighborhood for the worse (the ecosystem, further worsen stress on deer - already on the streets- and other creatures/wildlife, local traffic, the feel of our South side as our last true nature enclave). A local a perfect example of when greed needs to be denied.

Trees are vital to our human wellbeing. They are as important as our breath. The protection of our few remaining natural spaces in Highland Park is important to our community. Breathe and thank the trees.

Trees are life sustaining forces on Earth. They vital to our air, our water and our soil. They cool us in hot weather, teach us about the life cycle we all experience, are home to many species of birds and animals, bring us beautiful colors that fascinate us in the fall, and greenery to renew our hopes of rejuvenation in the spring. They are a source of fragrance and food. They help us celebrate tradtions and they inspire great contemplation, thought and poetry. They can often be the oldest living species in their area and their use in every phase of our lives is unmistakeable. Think houses, furniture, tools, and their value to art in the form of sculpture. Trees are incredible survivors. They are strong and flexible at the same time and teach us a resilience to the many forms of pollution they not only survive, but show us how to do the same. They are said to communicate with each other, have sex, migrate when they must and when they die and reach the forest floor they help regenerate the very forest that has been their home. THEY KEEP PLANET EARTH SUSTAINABLEABLE. areas without trees die and become uninhabitable wastelands. Highland Park has been designated a green town. To lose the trees of Buck Woods would violate that designation, but more importantly would be a sin upon ALL THOSE who have a hand in their demise. Those who aid in the dispearence of these trees will not be forgotten, particularly the developer and town leaders who do not fight this incredible encroachment upon our town and yes, our planet. Wake up Highland Park and fight the scourge we are facing.

He should first have a plan before deciding which trees needs cutting.

It is important to make sure the least ecologically harmful actions are taken, and that community concerns are considered. This will require time and an evaluation we can feel confident in.

Please don't allow these trees to be cut down.

Please leave the trees alone. There is a variety of wildlife that lives there and depends on those trees especially birds. I've seen raccoons, deer, birds, and a bat there. Over by the river there are occasionally turtles and crabs. Instead of cutting down and removing trees, we should be removing all the trash from the woods and river. Our town does not need any more overpriced luxury housing.
