Thankful that we have a generation who sees potential to bring the Johnsonville mall back to life, it has been too long. I really hope this venture brings back the vibe that has been sadly lacking for over 20 years.

The mall desperately needs an upgrade to what it is now, I've lived in the Johnsonville/newlands area my whole life and seeing the mall get worse over the years, with shops opening then shutting down after a few months because of the rent, there are a few left but not sure how long they will stay, with the building only getting more empty everytime I go there.
the original plan to make it 3 stories with a carpark and movie theater was a good idea 20/40 years ago, but stride keeps pushing it back further until no shops remain.

It's is long overdue. The last time the mall got a renovation was in 1992/93. When the mall had shops we all as a community loved. Now it's dead. Still some hard core shops around. But the mall needs a major overhaul
