In the current economic climate, ideally €18 hourly wage would be a fair deal for both parties. Anything less than €18 will be a joke.

About time! I've never received a 'travel rate' as an IELTS invigilator..... Isn't that only for oral examiners?

I've been working for the British Council for 8 years now. I'm a TDS and travelled extensively in the last 6 years. Most of us were still working when the Corona Virus was at its peak, we've transferred to Computer based tests with barely any paid training sessions and continue to be the front for good costumer service and quality. Now with the raising living wages I think it more then fair that reimbursement is being raised too and therefore shows the value of our weekly work for the British Council.

Absolutely agree. In the last years we have seen a marked increase in the amount and variety of tasks that we undertake as invigilators, often with decreasing numbers of staff. This has also taken place against the backdrop of a pandemic, throughout which we continued to work face-to-face with the public. I'm quite shocked to see the difference between rates of pay for IELTS staff and Cambridge...
