The FA 'pride' themselves on setting an example.

But tell me, where is the justification in punishing John Terry? Cleared in a court of law and ultimately proved innocent, it's disgusting that the FA feel the need step in and undermine the authorities. Yes, setting an example ...

The fine may only equal just a weeks worth of wages, but NOBODY would find this acceptable in their workplace. This is people's livelihood at the end of the day. It truly is double standards.

Discontent is immediately punishable - Nobody in football can speak their mind. Go to any game and the fans will express their feelings and THIS is what will reach young people, not the authority exercising far too much of their exhausted 'power' on a player / manager / etc who may well have rightly criticised an opponent or a referee. 20,000 supporters are stronger in voice than 11 footballers - At least on influential minds.

It truly is a farce. Players can no longer go on social networking sites without needing to conduct themselves properly. This is their personal account - The FA CAN'T monitor each player's private life and pull them up when they spot a swear or a criticism. Such sites were meant to put footballers in closer contact with people, but instead are pushing them further and further away.

A fine seems like an easy way to get money. £200,000 - £300,000 for John Terry didn't do is absolutely disgusting. Dished out far too often and for extremely petty reasons to players across the football spectrum - Premier League, Football League.

Supporters aren't that naive as to believe footballers are perfect. Nobody is, and everyone will have flaws - punishing them is unethical. In this modern day and age, far too much is exposed in the way of violent video games and misbehaving film stars for people to gain bad influences from footballers. It really is the last thing society should be concerned about.

English football is no longer a democracy, and on behalf of the players and management and anyone else in football who are not permitted to speak for themselves - CHANGE NEEDS TO HAPPEN.
