The terms set out to qualify for a primary medical certificate are beyond ridiculous and archaic. My mother recently lost the full use of one hand and has severe degeneration of the spine and can only walk very short distances. And yet she still will not qualify for this cert? Surely this is discrimination against a person with a physical disability that they cannot get help when they need it the most.

It is unconscionable to send a letter to a parent who applies for this saying sorry, although your son is quite disabled, he's not disabled enough. Tine to review criteria

Refused twice for my daughter Ellen who has spina bifida. Part time wheelchair user, criteria does not say she needs to be wholly without the use of her legs 24 hours per day she she definitely without the use when she needs to use her wheelchair. Also due to the lack of adequate toilet facilities for catheterization my car is also used as a toilet, thus I had to get black tinted windows in the back to do catheterization. Getting a pmc all depends on where you live and each counties interpretation of the guidelines. Life is very hard as a parent of a child with special needs why do we have to fight so hard for everything. I have been unable to return to work full time since I had my daughter in December 2009, financially life has been tough even though I only have part time income I still had to pay my mortgage and live on less money.
