The archery community, particularly those involved in the Archery Shooter Association (ASA) tournaments, have recently faced a challenging adjustment regarding the changes made to the pins classes rules. Many enthusiasts, coaches, and competitive shooters believe these changes have not only complicated the sport but have also diluted the original spirit and fairness that previously defined the ASA events.

The ASA has traditionally been a hub for competitive excellence, where rule consistency allowed shooters to focus on honing their skills and fostering a genuine love for archery. The recent amendments, however, have made it difficult for shooters to maintain the level playing field necessary for fair competition. Many shooters are struggling to adapt quickly, leading to frustration and decreased participation in ASA events.

Reverting these rules to the previous standards is not simply about nostalgia or resistance to change. It is about preserving the integrity of the sport and ensuring that archers, especially newcomers and amateur enthusiasts, are not discouraged by overly complex regulations. A return to the prior rules will ease the transition for those new to the competitive scene and allow seasoned shooters to continue demonstrating their skills without unnecessary additions.

We urge the ASA leadership to engage with the community, understand their grievances, and reconsider the current regulations. Listening to those directly impacted can help craft a set of rules that preserves competitiveness while being accessible to all. To resolve this dispute, I suggest we make a new class that upholds the current rules, while we revert the pins class back to its former glory.

By signing this petition, we call on the ASA to prioritize the collective feedback of its members and restore the previous rules for the pins classes, ensuring the sport remains fair, exciting, and inclusive for everyone.
