The overall majority does not want the school start times to change so not sure why the BOE is wasting taxpayer's money to conduct these studies. This money could be used for the much needed maintenance of the school facilities.

I agree with the science behind later start times, but the expected value of the health benefits has to be reasonably quantified. A banana can be the healthiest option for everyone to eat, but if eating that banana means no longer affording a home, then logic tells us that the banana is not worth its cost. The same logic must be applied here. If the costs associated with making this change were reasonable and the other needs of the district are being met, then this is worth pursuing, but at this time and at this sticker price, the banana is not worth it.

No change to school start times. Both my children learned to combine a rigorous academic schedule, play sports 3 seasons, and volunteer after school, and managed to get to bed by 10pm each night, and got 8 1/2 hours sleep. It can be done. Take the electronics away at a decent hour, and be a parent, not a slacker. It can be done. Enough is enough. Want a later start time for your child, home school or ,over to a town where the majority are in favor. It’s not here in Ridgefield!

Not good for elementary kids. Later start time for high school students will not equate to more sleep.

I have 1 graduate, a Senior and a Sophomore at RHS. The graduate and the senior are athletes and would lose the ability to work with the later start times. Waste of time and money - I oppose.
