As a child, the 138 bus route was a lifeline for me getting to school on time. I lived then in Coney Hall at the end of the route and went to Hayes School in Hayes, Bromley. Because the service was mostly reliable and frequent then, I never had concerns that it would get me to school on time, or that the buses would be so overcrowded that I would have to wait for the next one or the one after that. That is what you are condemning today's children to if you do not reverse this ridiculous policy. Yes, you do personally use public transport to get around, but you still have an official car. I didn't have that luxury when I was a child.

The changes to the bus service do not meet the needs of families and older people. When we should be encouraging public transport and less reliance on cars this is a retrograde step.

It’s imperative that the 138 bus route is restored to its previous timetable.
