Disgusting that no mention was made of the applicant being the Chair of the Parish Council. If anyone else had submitted a similar request it would most likely have been refused!

I have not been able to see the officer report on this but I can see the numerous, objections, all of which make very valid points. The AONB planning officer's views do not appear to have held any weight at all in this decision. The planning process has gone badly wrong. This looks like a luxury home. If the applicant can afford to build it then I suggest they can afford to buy another property in the area. I doubt Cornwall Council will be checking that the agricultural dwelling conditions will be adhered to, when this monstrosity comes up for sale at an eyewatering price, when the next generation of farmers are in a position to move into the tied family property. There is no point in a planning system that does not work to protect coastal landscapes.

Thought an AONB had the same protection as National parks ..evidently Cornwall council knows better .

This really must not go ahead. If the Council argued against opposition from the AONB officer it makes a mockery of the national protections we have for our outstanding areas. For the Chair of the Parish Council to be the applicant and to not declare an interest shows an extreme self serving attitude which also shows him not fit for the job as the is corrupt. This decision should be reversed immediately.
