We, the undersigned, do hereby request that the legitimate government of the United Kingdom return to the country of Greece those items commonly referred to as the Parthenon Marbles. These items of antiquity were illegally removed from the occupied nation of Greece by a citizen of the United Kingdom and the government of the United Kingdom has in course of time become holder in possession of these illegally obtained artifacts. As part of the history and culture of Greece, the Parthenon Marbles need and must be returned to the place of their origin. As part of the soul of the Greek people, common morality demands the return of these unique treasures to their home. It is with my signature that I most strongly appeal to you, the government of the United Kingdom, do follow the moral imperative that is presented to you and return the soul of Greece to its rightful place.
