Return to the "One full week of Homeroom, two full weeks of Knight Time" schedule
The Ardrey Kell student body is asking that administration consider abandoning the decision to have 90-minute classes. As of now, the regular schedule is "one-half week of Homeroom, two full weeks of Knight Time". Homerooms, which are in place for each student to have a group to bond with from Freshman year to graduation, now only meet three times every three weeks, leaving no time to grow as a unit and participate in team-building activites. Homeroom is also a useful opportunity for various sources (administration, student council, yearbook, CMS, etc.) to deliver news, hold voting sessions, and other important tasks. By significantly lessening the time spent in homeroom, you are putting a burden on all of those sources to do what they must do within two days (third doesn't count, since that is reserved for DEAR day). While 10 extra minutes to every class may seem minor, it is a significant difference to students. Those extra ten minutes slow the day down to an intolerable level, decrease motivation, and further exhaust students.
