Return Smart Lunch to it's original state before 10/25

Lets punish students at fault as this happens!!!!! It is ONLY fair that way!!!

Some people use this time wisely, I know life isn't all fair but even with this, the troublesome kinds won't care and start all over within a couple of weeks after this punishment

While I only have a preschooler, I do work and interact with older kids often. I learned of Wakefield's smartLunch via these interactions and was floored by its ingenuity and genuine dedication to student opportunity for success. As we have looked at homes and considered schools, this forward-thinking idea has actually been mentioned to illustrate Wakefield's dedication to its students. I'm disheartened to hear it's being removed, even moreso after learning why. Kudos to the students intelligently protesting - I surely hope that Mr. Bazzell and any others involved revisit this seemingly short-sighted decision.

In my opinion a different option needs to be pursued. Eliminating smart lunch is not the best option. I think the root cause needs to be addressed. Is that the overcrowding due to adding the freshman back?

Some of us use smart lunch to get homework done so we don't fall behind because we have after school activities

Our students shouldn't be punished Bc Bazzell can't handle the few that are the problem

of course there is overcrowding, it's the first year in 14 years that freshman are on campus. Did the administration expect it to be peaceful? By getting rid of smart lunch you are punishing those who utilize it and rewarding those who disregard the rules.

mr bazell is lame for doing this

Wakefield's Mission Statement says that the school's goal is to prepare students to "become productive citizens"; but in what productive society is this form of group punishment used? In the real world, outside Wakefield, those who act up are disciplined accordingly, so why should our entire school community's day be restructured and our opportunities for growth as students through Smart Lunch be taken away because some students, however many, were acting up. It may be a solution to the problem of misbehavior, but it is an extremely lazy solution at that, and it teaches students a false lesson regarding how discipline works in society. Wakefield administrators are taking the easy way out and instead of dealing with the real problem, which is certain students being disruptive, they take away an important and useful part of the day from the entire school.

Bring smart lunch back.

As a former student of Wakefield high school, I can honestly say smart lunch is the only reason I graduated.

Smart lunch has been with me for three years, why stop?

I would like to see smart lunch restored.

Smart lunch not only serves as a time for students to wind down and socialize with friends, but allows clubs to meet during school instead of after school. It also provides ample study time, especially this week, with midterms around the corner. Punishing everyone for the actions of a few isn't fair to the rest of the students at Wakefield.
