That cross has been part of the memorial for as long as I can remember. Please put the nativity back where it also sat for more that 34 plus years.

Our veterans have fought for our country so that we might have our freedom. The piece of art donated by a veteran is a beautiful tribute to all those who have served and all those who have given their lives for our freedom, and it seems appropriate that it should be displayed in Veterans Park. This country was founded by our forefathers on Christian principles. This has always been a Christian community, and if someone doesn't like the art work, that's their choice, However, the piece of art is a statement about history, and offended or not, history doesn't go away just because someone wants it to.

As the Catholic priest who serves Belle Plaine at Our Lady of the Prairie, I would like to thank everyone who is helping to protect our community from radical atheism by signing this petition. Please pray for our community. The same organization is responsible for having our Nativity scene removed from city property. When the Nativity issue came up 14 months ago, I invited Ms. Gill to publicly debate the relationship between religion and government, but she declined my offer. Instead, I received an offer from the atheistic group with which Ms. Gill is affiliated to pay for the expenses of one of their lawyers in Wisconsin to make the trip and debate with me. Needless to say, I declined because I don't spend my own money nor that of my parish on atheistic missionary efforts! There is very little reason to think this will be their last move. Please pray for us and with us. All the best in Christ.
