Return of Full Health Services to Craik, Davidson and Area

I think I'm like other people we are clad to see M.J. get a new hospital BUT smaller than the one they have don't make sence,OH I should have said COMMON SENSE which is lacking with the Gov.not only in Health. Craik and soe other places in FIVE HILLS have newer hospitals and have staff to handle some emergencies then the Doc.on duty can forward them if necessary.We had some people last year that worked very hard to keep this hospital open but like everything in rural Sask. we have to fight for it.I think these C.E.O'S.should be ashamed of them selves for trying to close these places just for there personal wealth,convince me I'm wrong.REMEMBER COMMON SENSE We have a new group working to keep our hospital why not work together and make everyone happy. Everyone has the right to full health services.

We are getting very tired of 'not having a voice' (no representation on the health board). When the regions were established we were assured that there would be 'elected' representatives on the board. That lasted about one election! The amount of money being paid to our health board members is absurd. Elected representatives would do,a better, fairer job for a fraction of the current cost. Forcing rural people to the urban centres for health care (especially emergency care) costs the system much, much more than taking care of rural people in rural area where possible. Please restore our emergency services and allow the medical people who want to work in the rural area the right to do so unhampered.

I really wish the "Rural Minister of Health" would show a bit more concern for the rural communities of Saskatchewan. Deferring to the CEO of each health region, who for the most part are from URBAN centers, doesn't really help address the needs of the rural communities. Most of the CEO's don't know or care what is happening in the facilities in the rural settings. They make unilateral decisions without consultation or communication with the affected communities. I think its interesting that I continually hear about the concerns for people of rural Saskatchewan, yet no one in a position of power is willing to do anything about it because there is no political advantage to it. If it doesn't get them enough votes or a big enough sound bite on the 6 o'clock news, they aren't interested. Equal access to health care.... I wonder what Tommy Douglas would say?

Regina is upset to loss emergency services due to lack of Drs. We have Drs that want to do emergency services and the region won't let them........???????

Have many family and friends in these areas that deserve the same rights to have proper health care available to them. This government seems to forget who voted them in.

no 11 highway is the busiest highway in sask and we have two drs. from regina to saskatoon and no emergency sevice here in craik and davidson is limited what is the matter with the heads of the health region, the old and the accident victims are the ones paying the price you are building a new hospital in moose jaw with fewer beds than you had before ,no emergency sevice here means a deat sentence to a whole lot of people or is that the idea of the government amd five hills health region

I have experienced first hand the absence of a physician in the area. I have had a couple of severe anaphylaxis reactions while visiting my parents who farm in the area. I have been in the need of medication and a physician to SAVE MY LIFE. We stop at the local hospital for a dose of epinephrine and a tank of oxygen and then onto the next local hospital hoping and praying that the epinephrine was successful. The nearest hospital is at least 1 hour away. I was thankful to some wonderful nurses that treated me and thankfully I did not need to be intubated.

I have had the misfortune of having several family members require emergency transport and the nearest doctor was in Regina - over an hour away - not acceptable - nor is phoning around a 50 mile radius of health centres to find out the quickest appointment will be in 2 weeks - something has to change!

It is not fair to have our services cut due to political agendas. Just because we are a small community doesn't mean we don't count. We pay taxes just like everyone in this province but have chosen to live here. Also, a great point was brought up about the busy highway we live on- it is essential to have emergency services available in Craik and Davidson.

Having small children and no services or limited is of great concern, time is of the essence in emergency situations... I myself have been involved in a few accidents where ive needed to be transported to get, bones fixed and body parts stitched, when in pain and suffering should have been taken care of locally!!

The more services offered in rural locations the less pressure in larger urban centers will result. It's a win win for all residents of Saskarchewan!!!
