This policy is ridiculous. I use my school email for college, scholarships, and work. I believe that there is no reason we can only email bps101 staff and students.

UPDATE: I just emailed a counselor and was notified that the counselors are not aware of this policy. There is the possibility that this was a mistake by the school district; I will let you know if I get confirmation.

This is not a good policy because I use my email to contact my boss and to contact my parents sometimes. I've also used this email for college purposes.

The policy that you are enforcing is one of isolation. By cutting off the school emails from those in the public you cannot use it to apply for jobs, colleges or even maintain correspondence with those in the world around you. This may sound like an extreme telling but not all students have email accounts of their own or just don't like giving it out to others due to reasons spanning from privacy to poor naming from when they were young. This policy also prohibits communication with parents or even sending yourself files from personal projects.

this is trash. so many students have to receive emails from colleges for scholarships and such. Also athletes such as myself are using this email for recruitment purposes.

This policy is inhibiting the lives of all students. This policy prohibits any form of communication and all attempts at combining your social and school lives, and if forces students who rely on emails for communication to lose much needed money on cell phone usage.

as someone who needs to transfer files from one email to another, this is outrageous

Really? Now if you need to use a school project on a personal computer or even for clubs where things are needed from programs not available on the chromebooks. Through this policy students without phones cannot contact their parents inside of school, can't receive emails for confirming logins for IXL or even contact anyone without a school email.

This does not seem to be a good policy. People who have used their email to contact colleges now can't contact them for scholarships. Also for the swim teams position. We have to go to West Chicago for our practice, if something came up they would have to send an email to us so we know what is going on.

This policy effectively makes our emails useless. This cuts off communication with parents, other students outside the school district, as well as colleges which are vital to our futures and our success in our future education endeavors. It is imperative that this be fixed now.

This is ridiculous. Give us this ability to send and receive emails outside the district back.

I am concerned because this prevents us students from communicating with scholarships and college admissions officers, vital for those of us in junior or senior year. We also cannot hear from colleges that are wishing to let us know reminders for deadlines and even whether we got in.
