Plymouth University, you must stick to the agreed curricula and deliver the Mathematical Economics course originally offered to the students. It is embarrassing for you as an institution to show such an appalling lack of respect to the students and yourselves. Not to mention the lame excuses to justify the cancellation of this course. Sort this issue out and reinstate Mathematical Economics now.

As a member of Plymouth University Alumni & economics graduate I do not feel that the quality of the current degrees should be degraded by the removal of an important element of economics.

Maths is such an integral part of Economics - I can't speak for everyone I'm sure but for those of us who are considering further education beyond a bachelors degree in this field will surely need some more mathematical preparation than simply being able to differentiate. I feel that this course is the only real chance we have been offered to extend our maths beyond a very basic level that is incomparable to the standard that other universities offering a course in Economics require. If the University wants to be considered as being a "First class establishment" then it should be doing more to prepare it's students for the types of jobs they will inevitably be getting..

24 people signed up to a module is more than enough. Don't let the uni cut costs at your expense!

Given that other than the 24 students that wanted to take Mathematical Economics, there were at least a couple more of us (including myself) that wanted to take the module but wasn't offered it due to the change in the structure of the programme this year, I feel it is unfair to just cancel it as affects more than 24 and there is clearly a demand for it

Frankly considering the university spent £150,000 on a few chairs last year, and the 24 people wanting to take this module are paying £216,000 to the university in fees. It seems a disgrace that we can't take the modules we want. Maybe sell the chairs, and keep your students happy instead of continually cutting our resources and module choice.

Cancelling the Mathematica Economics module has saddened me deeply. The cancellation email was sent to 24 people. If every single one of these student wants to take this module next year, why was it cancelled due to lack of numbers? 24 is a fair number of students.

Seems out of place to not have a Mathematical Economics module in an Economics Degree - especially when 1/5 to 1/4 of the course wanted to do it.
