Why "Retire the Word Ugly"? Because of the stain it leaves on the spirit. What I've found is that the stain such a word leaves on the spirit is hard to erase and affects one in every area of life. It steals one's ability to be confident, creates enormous levels of doubt, plants the seeds of inferiority, and gives birth to self-rejection and isolation. All of these things can ultimately give way to depression and many other dysfunctions that prevent us from living an enriched life.
