Truly one of the most special persons and players that I have seen in the world of college athletics. Oregon is sure to have many great quarterbacks in the future, but there will never be another quite like Marcus Mariota. I think that retiring his number is an honor that Marcus is truly deserving of.

While there have been great QB's and players for the Ducks, Marcus has clearly defined himself as the greatest player the university has ever had. The numbers, the accolades, the attitude, the humbleness and pure work ethic, all speak for themselves. It will be a very long time before another Marcus comes along to rack up those numbers and win EVERY possible award there is. Think about it. There were no awards left for him to win as an individual. Go Ducks and WTD!!

As an Oregonian, I am a die-hard Oregon fan. I don't believe that there will be a future quarterback that can compare to Mariota. He is the first Heisman Winner in the history of UO. Time to honor him and his number.
