This is an awful idea. I don't want people smoking pot, legally since they do illegally now, around my kids or in public places.

The ‘CLEAN’ air is our life necessity and it is ours first before being drawn into our homes smelling foul.
The smell is obnoxious, offensive wand hawrmfull.
I respect the no smoking rules in place around almost all buildings and would hope that those thinking that they can smoke marijuana anywhere they like comes under the same laws.
I think that companies selling smoking/air polluting products provide containment for consumers, keeping the products in their lungs and not mine or my loved ones.

To many people in this country live with this foolish idea the the Government is there to protect the people. This Government could care less about the people of Canada. By legalizing marijuana all they see is dollar sign's, not the Pandora's box of distruction they are unleashing on Canadians of all ages. It is completely disgusting that the leader of our country would put Tax revenue and the thought that this may help him get elected again over the welfare and safety of its citizens. Justine Trudeau and his Liberal gong show make me sick, they are a perfect example of extremely poor leadership on every level. This guy and all his party need to go. NOW!!!

The Canadian Government should hang it's head in shame at the decision to normalise drug use. Future generations of Canadians will pay the price in the same way that tobacco smokers have done. Added to which the mental health of Canada's youth will suffer.

Our government has failed in implementing the first step needed before Bill C-45 (Cannabis Act) was even presented to the House of Commons. This involves educating all Canadians of ALL ages about real facts about Cannabis and it role in addiction problems and mental health problems. The first group of persons to be educated must be our Federal MP’s and Provincial MLA’s in order that they are in a position to make informed decisions. They are the decision makers for Canadians. This is then followed by educating the public so they are also in a position to make informed decisions. This would have resulted in a much different version of Bill C-45.

My son was diagnosed with a mental illness over 10 years ago. His trigger was cannabis. His logic: 'all my friends are doing it - it's only marijuana'. He became clean and sober 2 years after his diagnosis and was not hospitalized for psychosis since he stopped. He is now totally against cannabis use for recreational purposes. One of his friends who was also using, committed suicide (did you know that cannabis use can make depression and anxiety worse? Another friend has also been diagnosed with a psychotic disorder. Did you know that Bill C-45 states that youth 12-17 can 'possess' up to 5 grams (10 joints) legally (not buy but can possess marijuana legally)? Read Bill C-45 - it states this clearly. What message is our government sending to our kids? I was one of the facilitator for the Support Group for PLAD (Parents Learning About Drugs) - now I am the Facilitator for the Mental Illness Caregivers Support Group. The use of cannabis comes up frequently at our meetings by parents of their child who now lives with a diagnosis of a mental illness.

My son started smoking marijuana casually around the age of 16, was addicted when he graduated at 18 and had his first psychosis at the age of 23. Marijuana is the trigger. If he doesn't consume he has no psychosis. His choices in life are limited due to the damage done. His words: "I never thought it would happen to me."

The more facts I gather regarding the legalization of pot, the more I'm against it. Society will pay a huge price and will sacrifice future generations, allowing them to become addicts legally. Pot is a proven stepping stone to increased drug use.California & Washington are prime examples of incresed drug use since legalization.

We need more research to be done regarding the effects of this drug on young people especially
and the public needs to hear that children even as young as 12 years old may get access to this drug if Bill C45 goes through.
The public has NO idea how many messes will be created with this Bill. Let's be SMART now and not rush this
through only to pay later. Our
children need us to respect them
by speaking up now. Please
Mr. Trudeau, open your eyes and ears about this matter and help
us show our children we care about their future well being.
What is your rush all about?
