A recent decision to discontinue the availability of TWIG on GLOW by the Scottish Government / Education Scotland due to alleged under-utilisation has resulted in protest among the community of Biology teachers in Scotland.

ive been reading through your messages about how much you rely on these resources for your lessons and it really confirms why this matters so much. im still digging for answers from the right people but the silence from the top is pretty frustrating. thanks for sticking with me while we push for a real response.

With a young daughter approaching school age, I want schools to have access to the best educational content. It would be detrimental to remove such an educational resource. Teahers will end up heading back to YouTube and the dreaded Wikipedia!

The problem lies with the extremely poor roll out of glow. Staff do not have the time at the moment to find out things for themselves therefore resources on Glow are underutilised. Sort the real problem which is a lack of investment in quality training.

I use twig from S1 up to S6 and recently used it with a visiting P7 class. The primary school teacher never knew about twig but says they will be using it in the future. Please do not pull this resource as it is an invaluable science resource for all.

Twig is an outstanding resource of short videos that I use on a daily basis with my classes. My classes love the videos and often comment on how clear and informative they are. To lose them would be a severe loss to the teaching of the science curriculum

The removal of TWIG is a big blow to the teaching of biology at N5 and higher level as well as the teaching of the sciences in the BGE . As a faculty we have embedded these in our teaching by hyperlinking them into powerpoints. Please do not remove them. .

An excellent resource. Very hard to believe that it is under-utilised. The films are embedded in the practice of the majority of science teachers I've worked beside. No question that its loss would be to the detriment of pupils learning science in Scotland.

Fantastic resource used everyday to engage and challenge pupil knowledge and experience of science. We need this resource back. Supports STEM education and engagement.

TWIG is invaluable. I use it in a significant number of my lessons. It would mean losing the only resource on GLOW that was actually used and valued by fellow science teachers.
