I am honestly stunned because the department just confirmed that Mrs Knight-Smith is staying put at our school. My hands are actually shaking typing this but I am just so relieved that all that noise finally paid off for the students.

We the undersigned, rally together in support of keeping Mrs Leanne Knight-Smith as the Principal of the Charters Towers State High School.
Teachers, Students, Parents and Families support and respect Mrs Knight-Smith and her implemented changes that have been introduced to our school with her leadership.
To transfer our Principal at this time will be devastating for the students of CTSHS. Our education is important and we should have a right to have a voice on who leads us through our education journey.
Mrs Knight-Smith is a supporter, a trainer of the next generation. We are State High Proud, and as Principal, Mrs Knight-Smith ensures we remain this way.
We ask that Qld Education reconsider their decision, and retain our Principal for the ongoing success of our school.

I just spent the last hour reading through all your comments about Mrs Knight-Smith and honestly it is so overwhelming to see how much she actually impacts our daily school life. Someone messaged me earlier saying the school feels totally different without her vision in charge and that really stuck with me while I was drafting these letters to the department today. Please keep sharing your own experiences because even if the silence from the top is deafening right now they definitely cannot ignore the volume of these stories forever.

I was just looking at the notifications and realized how much steam this is picking up lately which feels honestly overwhelming in the best way. It really goes to show how much everyone cares about the school because I never thought we would have so many people backing this vision for our future (even if my head is spinning a bit from how fast things are moving).

Leanne has done wonderful things for the school, is very approachable and the students respect her. We can't afford to lose principals and teachers of her calibre.
Where to begin, when it comes to Mrs Knight-Smith. Her personality is electric, and her presence lights up any room she enters; which has shon through our school. She has truly changed State High for the best. From the schools facelift to the moral, she has made such an incredible impact. Our school has been so lucky to have her, and we would love more than anything for her to stay with us.
My children have felt safe and strived academically since Ms Knight-Smith was appointed acting principal.
The kids and parents don't want to lose this wonderful acting principal. There is a noticeable difference in the culture within the school and a more favourable perception from the general public about the school. Grades are better, kids are more engaged, staff are supported, P&C are happy... Ed Qld have a duty to listen to the noise that this proposed decision has created. Thank you.
Children in Western Communities need higher stability in education roles in order to maintain their necessary education requirements. When students rally to keep their Principal, it speaks volumes as to that Teachers reputation. Please reconsider moving her elsewhere.

Please leave this Principal at Charters Towers State High she has been the best thing for the students and school community, the children respect her and appreciate all she has done to make their school a better place, after many tears in having principals come and go, keeping this Principal would help keep the kids engaged in their learning and school community.
