We, the undersigned wish to make it known that the Parishioners of St. Anne’s Church in Copenhagen S. , Denmark , is petitioning the Roman Catholic Bishop Czeslaw Kozun NOT to terminate the services of the 2 Indian priests who are doing terrific job in our parish..
- We protest the sending back to India our 2nd Parish Priest Fr. Benny Matthews, and the Filipino Group Priest Fr. Joe Toms
- We believe that the two Indian priest brought necessary and welcome changes to the Parish.
- We believe that the 2 Indian priest managed to unite the 3 language group (Danish, Polish and English) to cooperate in common event in the parish.
- Fr. Benny Matthews was one of the founder of Better World Denmark , an NGO to help the poor and unpriviledge in developing countries.
- Fr. Benny and Fr. Joe started to celebrate the St. Anne’s Day which is the biggest event in the parish in collaboration of the 3 groups.
- We believe that the decision lacked consultation and consideration of the parishioners.
-We believe being the biggest English Catholic congregation in Denmark, we are hurt by the decision without consulting the parishioners.
