The students of McMaster's Bachelor of Technology Program have been severely under-represented by the Bachelor of Technology Association. We the students demand that the BTA be restructure to benefit the students of BTECH.
We require that the BTA hold temporary re-elections for all positions immediately as the current BTA has shown a gross mismanagement of power and negligence to duty
We require that the BTA be completely transparent in their actions and usage of funds, with updates every week for the ENTIRE student body.
We require that the President, Vice-President Administration and Vice-President External positions have equal representation from all streams with no more than one position held by each stream.
We require that the BTA be restructured in order to focus more on BTECH recognition, respect and reputation and have the BTA positions reflect that.
More will be discussed as the grievances of the student body are brought to light but there needs to be immediate change.

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the student government oversight committee next week. I am currently drafting a detailed summary of the documented negligence to ensure we have a clear agenda for that discussion.

Change is coming anyways, the elections are coming up. New people are coming in two months, anyone can run for presidency as well or any other position.
Hello, I am the B.Tech representative for the MES and I, along with the BTA, are shocked to have found this petition as no one has directly contacted us to voice these concerns with our council. We do our best to represent you and organize great events for all B.Tech students. Last month we had a pool night and next week we are having a ping pong night free to all B.Tech students to relieve stress and socialize with others. The elections for next year's council (January 2017-Decemember 2017) is coming up this month; I highly suggest that if you want to help make changes to the BTA to definitely try for a position! Please contact me at [email protected] to further discuss any more problems you may have so that they can be resolved.
FINALLY. About time someone called them out on this.
I mean the stream representation thing is a huge issue. Energy stream feels completely left out of everything lately.
The BTA fees are way too high for what we actually get out of them. We need to see where that money is going because right now it feels like a waste.

Honestly, the pub incident is the only thing I know about what the BTA did in the past. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
