So you want to "protect" you daughters? What about the protection of a Transgender girl who's forced to use the males restroom and gets beat up by boys? Transgender people are not our problem! Hateful ignorant people are our country's problem!

I don't want my little girl privacy and safety taken away at school. As a mother I am not concerned about the real transgender but the one who would pretend to be.

Hello, I saw this thread and thought it was an opportunity to apply some logic, morality, and some new age thinking to a crumbling, illogical, and hateful, baby booming generation. I understand that the southern parts, and other parts of The United States, are still behind in civil rights and morality. It's blatantly obvious with the racism being disguised as culture, and the support for a racist, and quite idiotic politician by the name of Donald Trump. However, this thread, or comment, is meant to insult the overall modernism present in southern culture, but as a mere educational opportunity that may or may not shed some light on the ignorance at work here. Over the past few decades we have seen some tremendous momentum and support of the LGBTQ community and laws have been enacted to ensure these people receive their civil rights. I'm not going to go into the exact description of civil rights, because I feel like it is okay to make the assumption most southerners are aware what is is due the fact they are always making accusations that something is violating theirs. I take these occurrences and assume they must be educated on what they are complaining about. Anyways, the legalization of homosexual marriage has been a milestone in American history and it saddens me that there is still much hate towards that aspect of society, but let's focus on transgenders. What is a Transgender? Many people have adopted the misconception that Transgenders are individuals who identify themselves as a different gender that is commonly associated with their sex. For vocabulary purposes I would less to stress the importance in distinguishing the difference between gender and sex. Gender is the societal role that is often used by an individual and usually correlates with interests, appearance, and overall self image. Sex, on the other hand, is the medical definition that relates to the anatomy they were born with and currently possess. The two terms are very different, but

my teenage daughter has rights too and HCS needs to step up and protect all not just some. But then again I expect nothing less from HCS than to infrange on someone rights!

This is definitely a violation of the safety ad privacy of our students. I totally agree that students should use the restroom consistent with their gender of birth or schools should provide a single occupant facility.

I will remove my kids from Horry County Schools before I let a boy use the restroom that my girl is using!
