Media Release Australian Motor Cycle Trail riders Association AMTRA in conjunction with VMC would like legislation changed to allow adolescents Aged 15 and above to be able to ride with their parents and or guardians/Club members in a controlled off road environment. Ride Structure Riding in a group with a fully licence ride leader and a tailman so that any situation ahead or behind the group would be encounter by a fully licence rider first. The system could be integrated thru the existing motorcycle clubs like AMTRA, Otway Trail Riders, and the like which could give the required accountability. To be able to ride their recreational or full registration motorbikes on forest roads coded 3000-3999 and non coded local roads under supervision of fully licensed riders in a club like environment. All junior riders to pass a riders competency test (held at HART or a similar organisation) which reflects the situations they will encounter. Proper riding gear would be a requirement Helmet, Goggles, Gloves, Motorcycle boots & Body armour We believe the experience gained in having the ability to practice their riding skills and guided by experienced rides would make them safer in the future. This issue will require government legislature changes. We need to be talking to the state transport minister, as a starting point.

If this was brought in it would have less people breaking the current law and more kids out of the house riding dirt bikes as there is very limited locations to ride now. Even your own private property
