With no available data we can have no meaninful review of the hypothesis. An unsupported hypothesis can not then support a conclusion. Restore the data. Restore the ethics of scientific endevours .

Correct me if I am wrong but this appears to be a case where the data did not fit the expected result and was thus data was discarded. This is not the scientific process as I was taught.

If we can measure global warming with thermometers accurate to one degree and read by ordinary citizens, then I'm sure that GEpH electrode readings by scientists can be used to measure ocean pH.
