Born in DDC, Served the City for years as a DCFD employee. Dodge City Red Demon belongs on the water tower.
The mascot logo has nothing to do with religion.

My dad, Bob Hermes, was one of those instrumental in getting the Red Demon on top of the water tower. Would love to see it up there again.

I personally spoke with our Mayor Joyce Warsaw about this topic. The response I received was "there are just as many that oppose the the Red Demon as there are folks that want it". She was oblivious to how and why it was painted over an the entire story. I emailed or messaged her the links to the stories in the Hutch paper. Never heard back from her on the subject. Good luck I hope it goes back up.

Like so many, it saddens me greatly to see so many iconic things that I grew up with taken away and for no good reason. I love my home town, but almost fail to recognize it when I visit. Please restore the Demon's logo on the water tower!
