Public Masses during this time would be a sign to the surrounding communities of each parish that the Church is in the world but not of the world. And it would be a sure sign that God has not abandoned us, and that we also have not abandoned God, but in fact trust God even more.
And finally, it would be a sign that the number one priority of the Church is not to "...ensure the safety and health of all who attend our Masses...", as one Archbishop recently stated, but is instead the salvation of souls.
