The HAGIA SOPHIA is an iconic Christian monument in Turkey.
It's status has been severally abused due to the intolerance of the Muslim governments of Turkey.
From being a Christian cathedral, a place for Christian worship, it was seized and forciblly converted into a mosque. In later decades, it's status was changed to a 'museum', and it was pronounced so by the rulers of Ankara.
Only recently, the HAGIA SOPHIA was re-seized and reconverted to a mosque.
Just yesterday,Friday 24/07/2020, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan the maximum ruler of Turkey in giving defiant emphasis to his repressive actions against religious freedom, in the face of muted global opposition, led a Muslim Friday prayer session in the HAGIA SOPHIA!
That the HAGIA SOPHIA and it's Christian owners could be brazenly subjected to such an unbearable level of trauma in the 21st century, with the United Nations Organization and it's Security Council staying aloof is unbelievable!
If indeed we seek a peaceful World where peoples rights are not only just tolerated but respected, if it is not true that the UN and it's relevant agencies have a strong bias against the Christian faith, and if the world at large still respects the values of fairness, justice and equality, I hereby call on the UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION through its SECURITY COUNCIL,to commence immediately by its proper machineries and procedures, the process of calling the government of Turkey to order.
The aims of the process I seek, should be the reversion to its original status of the HAGIA SOPHIA and the reasonable guarantee of religious freedom for Christians in the Islamic Republic of Turkey.
