Welina me ke aloha - Greetings with regards

In 1893, a group of foreign-born sugar growers living in the Kingdom of Hawai’i decided to overthrow the Kingdom government and annex Hawai’i to the United States. The United States Minister to Hawai’i landed United States Marines to support the overthrow.

Queen Lili’uokalani stepped down to avoid bloodshed and agreed by United States Presidential Decree that the United States Government would restore her to her throne and her nation’s independence. While the United States President Grover Cleveland at the time termed the overthrow “an act of war committed with the participation of a diplomatic representative of the United States and without authority of Congress“, the United States did not restore the Kingdom government and eventually annexed the islands.

In 1993, the United States Congress passed and President Clinton signed what is known as the Apology Resolution. This resolution recognized that “the indigenous Hawaiian people never directly relinquished their claims to their inherent sovereignty as a people or over their national lands to the United States, either through their monarchy or through a plebiscite or referendum.“

Since the day of the overthrow, the Hawaiian people have sought to restore their nation. Today, there is an internationally recognized Treaty to return Hawai’i to the community of nation’s original monarchy and Kingdom. The goal is a non-aligned, sustainable nation providing peace making resolutions to the rest of the Human Family.

We are asking the people of the world to sign a petition to the United States government calling for the restoration of the Kingdom of Hawai’i as an independent nation.

Petition for National Restoration
Whereas, every nation has the right to unfold its evolution without interference from other nations, and
Whereas, in 1893, a United States government official called upon United States Marines to support the illegal overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawai’i government, and
Whereas, the President of the United States at the time termed the overthrow an “an act of war,” and called for the restoration of Queen Lili’uokalani to her throne, and
Whereas, despite the illegal nature of the overthrow, the United States proceeded to annex the Hawaiian Islands, and
Whereas, in 1993, the United States acknowledged the overthrow as illegal and apologized to the Hawaiian people, and
Whereas, The Apology Resolution recognized that the Hawaiian people never gave up their sovereignty, and
Whereas, Hawaiians are still waiting for their nation to be restored, and
Whereas, the Kingdom of Hawai’i has the same right as every other nation to determine its destiny,
Therefore, we, the undersigned, petition the United States government to end its occupation of the Hawaiian Islands and support the return of the Kingdom of Hawai’i to the community of nations.

Please support this petition by posting your name and email address. and circulate as this is for the peace of the world. All countries, all races, all religions-- we stand as one voice -- the voice of freedom and peace.

Its the right thing to do. Hawaii wants the same thing Americans want... to be their own nation, not to be ruled over by another country.

As a Cherokee decendant I can relate to the unjustified plunder of sovereign citizens in their own land. Restore Hawaii solely to the Hawaiian citizens, independent from the United States forthwith. God bless Hawaii and it's people.

I support the people of Hawaii to finally have a referendum on independence from the United States in order to end the current illegal occupation. As long as the United States continues to illegally occupy Hawaii without ever asking the people what they wanted it cannot call itself a democratic country. Good wishes from Ireland!
