The Farmington Community Library will be a much better place without Mr. Largent harassing everyone.

Mr. Bill Largent has contributed to The Farmington Community Library's workplace to become a nightmare to some people who I kniw. I am very disappointed and ashamed as the library's patron to know. That a board member would in such a disgraceful way disrespect loyal employees. I begin to wonder if this is really a "community" library...? A safe place for community members to gather??? Unfortunateky, Mr. Largent is not the best fit to be a board member.

Largent took advantage of a nice couple who were upset over losing their library cafe and launched himself into his current position because he was never able to successfully get on City Council or the Board of Education. He is an unprincipled opportunist and a bully and the quicker he is gone, the better off the community will be.

As a fellow librarian I know that the library staff have the most valuable experience in serving the community. A toxic board member can sour an entire community.

Farmington and Farmington Hills residents need to know what the Farmington Community Library Board and the director are doing. Who oversees the board? How are monies being spent? Why are some of the board members so disrespectful? Why was HR outsourced (among other departments)? Why weren’t materials ordered during the last fiscal year? There are so many questions that need to be answered. Bill Largent needs to be removed along with the director. We need a board and director who are willing to work with the FCL staff, who want to work, to be treated with respect and included in decision making.

He has been an arrogant and abusive board member sent on a mission by former officials to destroy the library.

I worked over 41 years for FCL, 4 Directors, numerous Board members, never had these problems, all worked together for the good of the community and staff. The current incompetence cannot continue. One person and others who agree with his behavior should not be allowed to destroy our fine Library.

The library board not only has a fiduciary duty to the people of Farmington Hills but a civic obligation too. The library is not a for-profit public institution and the question of using taxpayer money to full fund library programs was something that was decided by the taxpayers in an election, and isn't to be otherwise litigated by the library board after the fact. For gross negligence of the core responsibilities to the library's stakeholders in the community, I demand that Bill Largent be relieved of his duties immediately.

The library staff and community deserve better than the board they have.
